New Link Added for Nuisance Animal Control

Hello All,

If you encounter problems with some wildlife, I have found a resource. Snakes, raccoons, nuisance birds, squirrels, bats and the like are not managed by SPCA Animal Control. I had a starling get into my first floor ceiling via exhaust fan vent on the back of the house. I found Mid-Atlantic Wildlife Control and was able to humanely remove the bird. The business owner is also a Certified Wildlife Rehabilitator for injured/orphaned animals. The link to the web site is under "Helpful Links". Mid-Atlantic is a private, fee-for-service enterprise.

I will also add Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research in case of injured/orphaned baby birds. Tri-State is a local non-profit famous for treating birds after oil spills, among other things. Spring is coming and so are the babies.

Landscaping the Front Entrance

To celebrate Earth Day Week-end, we would like to landscape our community’s front entrance. We are planning on doing it on Saturday April 25th. We are currently discussing the way to raise the funds. We also need volunteers! Here is a draft of a possible design. Please leave your opinion, ideas and if you are willing to help by commenting in this post.

How your neighbors affect your home's value and vice versa.

We talked about this in our last meeting, and I found this article with a video from ABC news. I thought it would be interesting to share it.

And this is then Entrance by the pond.

Reflective Vests

I feel reflective vests are a must for all walkers. I will go to Walmart tomorrow morning to pick up a few. We can have the vests and the walkie talkies handed off from one pair of walkers to the next as a way to have contact with each person starting out and finishing up a shift.

Just another safety measure.
