FYI: known Child Sex Offenders in West Creek Vlg Apts, Winding Brook and Across Fletchwood Rd.

Just to make sure all are aware, the State of MD has an online Registry that shows the sex offenders and their addresses throughout the State. In zip code 21921, there are 3 who reside in Winding Brook (right behind West Creek Village), one in West Creek Vlg apts, and another who lives in the development across Fletchwood Rd. (is it Meadowview? I can't remember the name).

At any rate, I just wanted to make sure all parents had this information. The first link below is the search results for child sex offenders in zip 21921. They are also the individuals in the pics shown at the top of this post:

This link is where you can do different searches for various offender types:

I just wanted all to be aware, as I myself was not even aware of these folks being so close to home until today.

can we ask our kids to keep their radios/subwoofers down?

I know I'm probably sounding like an 80 year old man in a wife-beater tee shirt, black socks, and sandals here with all of my feedback, but trust me I'm really not that bad! 8^] I also enjoy music as much as the next person in my car, but when I'm sitting in my living room and the glass in the front windows of my house is rattling because of a passing subwoofer or blasting music, I have to ask if we can ask our teens and neighbors to KEEP THE MUSIC DOWN to a tolerable level? Just so I don't sound like a priest, I too had a subwoofer in one of my cars as a kid.. But I would at least be nice enough to the people who lived around me to turn it down when I came into our development..

OK, I've posted quite a bit here today so I'll be quiet for the remainder of the day- thanks again for the posting of this blog and the efforts to keep our development both unified and safe.

any hope for speed bumps on Winchester Dr?

For years my wife, neighbors and I have sat and watched as people completely blow the stop sign at Winchester and Appaloosa, and if we take the initiative to say something as they pass by we are either met with a laugh, getting flipped off, or a simple ignoring of our request. Has there been any discussion or research around getting speed bumps on Winchester Dr., and if so what the cost might be? When we first moved in, there would be a local Sherriff who would sit at the Winchester stop sign from time to time to help, but it's been some time since that has happened. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

kids in the woods..

For the safety of all of the youngsters in our development, is it possible to keep our kids AWAY FROM walking/riding bikes/hanging out in the woods behind Winchester Dr. (WL Gore property)? Aside from the fact that there are hunters back there at all different times throughout the year (we have a bullet hole in our back siding to prove it), there has been theft of items from my neighbor's property (Jeff Adams, one house up from mine), as well as a call needing to be made to the local Fire Dept a few years back- kids brought a mattress back there (for what I'm sure was for a variety of reasons), and someone had smoked a cigarette on it while sitting/lying on it, and it caught fire. God only knows what damage that could have caused had it not been caught early.

My neighbor and I have repeatedly told kids that they do not belong back there, and have even advised that if we saw it continuing we would have to notify the police. It would be a big help (not to mention a positive step in protecting our WC kids) if everyone would simply advise their children that they do not belong back there.

who is on that mini bike after dark?

Sorry for all of these questions but I have been waiting for the opportunity to pose them all with the right audience, and I think this blog is it! On many nights during the Spring, Summer, and Fall months, most often right after dark, we will hear someone riding up and down Winchester on a mini bike. They completely blow the stop sign at Winchester and Appaloosa, there is no headlight on the bike, and it runs to the apartment complex across the street on Fletchwood and back. Does anyone know who this is or what is going on? I wouldn't mind it if it was a limited thing, but it has gone on pretty regularly in frequency for a few years now. If it's a teen, I understand that being a pretty long hike, however the bike is not tagged and you can't see it at night unless you are right up on it. It also seems to make multiple trips, which gets annoying after a while. Hopefully I'm not the only one who this affects.

Also, hopefully we (my family) do not do anything to disturb others in the neighborhood, but if we do please let me know so it can be addressed!! Thanks!

question re: White Jeep Cherokee that drives around development between 6-6:30AM

I am hoping that I am simply over-reacting, but each morning as I get ready to leave for work, there is a White Jeep Grand Cherokee that buzzes around in the development, going everywhere from Winchester to Appaloosa to up and down the street to different cauldesacks. It is usually between 6 and 6:30AM during the week. I am hoping that this is simply for dropping children off for daycare, school, etc, but wanted to inquire anyway. We have been in our home for 14 years, and unfortunately have witnessed drug transactions in the development in days gone by, so I'm hoping that is not what is transpiring with this vehicle. FYI.
