Sorry for all of these questions but I have been waiting for the opportunity to pose them all with the right audience, and I think this blog is it! On many nights during the Spring, Summer, and Fall months, most often right after dark, we will hear someone riding up and down Winchester on a mini bike. They completely blow the stop sign at Winchester and Appaloosa, there is no headlight on the bike, and it runs to the apartment complex across the street on Fletchwood and back. Does anyone know who this is or what is going on? I wouldn't mind it if it was a limited thing, but it has gone on pretty regularly in frequency for a few years now. If it's a teen, I understand that being a pretty long hike, however the bike is not tagged and you can't see it at night unless you are right up on it. It also seems to make multiple trips, which gets annoying after a while. Hopefully I'm not the only one who this affects.
Also, hopefully we (my family) do not do anything to disturb others in the neighborhood, but if we do please let me know so it can be addressed!! Thanks!

I have spoken to several children who ride around on off-road dirt bikes (child size) in the street. They ignore me. I am concerned as a motorcyclist that no one is supervising their activity. Dirt bikes without lights or license plates are illegal on the road. They should be ridden in designated areas for the purpose. I don't know whether these people in the Pine Tree apartments or in Winding Brook...my inclination is Winding Brook because of storage.
ReplyDeleteIt has also been the case that they are riding stolen equipment. Something to that effect was mentioned in the paper some time ago.
